TR Constructions LLC | Altadena Rebuild Resource Series
Published February 2026 | Based on information shared at the Altadena Solutions Summit
The TR Constructions team recently attended the Altadena Solutions Summit, a community event where experts shared critical information for families rebuilding after the Eaton Fire. We believe every homeowner deserves access to this information, whether or not they were able to attend. Below is a summary of key takeaways from one of the summit panels. This is educational information only and should not be considered legal, financial, or tax advice. Please consult with licensed professionals for guidance specific to your situation.
One of the clearest messages from the Altadena Solutions Summit was this: recovery is not something you should try to figure out by yourself. Multiple organizations are on the ground right now offering free services specifically for fire-impacted families. Here are the key resources that were highlighted.
211 LA: Your Starting Point When You Don’t Know Where to Start
If you need help but you are not sure exactly what kind of help or where to find it, 211 LA is the place to begin. They are a nonprofit that has served LA County for over 45 years as the largest information and referral service in the nation. You can reach them by dialing 2-1-1 from any phone.
What makes 211 LA especially valuable right now is that they vet every resource they share. Their team checks resources every 48 hours to make sure what they are giving people is real and currently available. That lesson came from COVID, when organizations were closing faster than referral lists could keep up.
What 211 LA Can Help With
- Connecting you with emergency housing, food assistance, and essential services
- Multilingual support for non-English speaking families
- Partnerships with organizations like Airbnb and Amazon for temporary housing and supplies
- Up-to-date information on new grants, programs, and aid as they become available
Follow 211 LA on social media and check their website regularly. New funding opportunities and grant programs are being announced on an ongoing basis as recovery moves into its next phase.
The Altadena Coalition: A Neighbor Advocating for You
A community-led group called the Altadena Coalition was also highlighted at the summit. This is not a nonprofit and they do not charge for their services. They are residents who lost homes themselves and decided to organize on behalf of the entire community.
What they have done is go out and vet builders, contractors, architects, engineers, and surveyors on behalf of homeowners. They negotiated pricing, established standard operating procedures, and secured product discounts ranging from 40 to 70 percent off on materials from brands like Andersen, Kohler, and MSI.
What the Altadena Coalition Offers
- Free two-hour consultation sessions where they will send an engineer, architect, and contractor to your property
- Standardized pricing on pre-vetted custom home builders
- Collective bargaining power for better material pricing
- Design support to help you build the home you want, not just the cheapest option available
The coalition’s philosophy is that you should not settle for the home you can afford. You should get the home you deserve. They will help you explore every option to close the gap.
Project Passion: Direct Support for Daily Life
Project Passion is an organization providing hands-on, immediate support for fire-impacted families. Their services address the day-to-day challenges that come with displacement.
Services Available Through Project Passion
- A “Freedom Store” with free essential household items, personal care products, and supplies
- Free delivery services with box trucks for families moving between temporary housing, apartments, or back into rebuilt homes
- Three months of free rental assistance for tenants displaced by the fire (over $600,000 distributed so far)
- Employment navigation to help fire-impacted residents find jobs that match their actual skills and experience
- Housing counseling to help families find housing within their budget
As of the summit date, Project Passion had completed 416 free deliveries and distributed 1.9 million pounds of essential items to affected families. You can find them at ProjectPassionInc.com.
The Power of Working Together
A recurring theme from the panelists was the importance of collective action. When neighbors work together to rebuild, everyone gets better pricing. When the community stays visible and vocal, funding continues to flow. When organizations collaborate, families avoid falling through the cracks.
Multiple panelists also emphasized that major events like the FIFA World Cup, the Super Bowl, and the Olympics will compete for public attention in the years ahead. Continuing to tell your story and remind people that Altadena is not yet rebuilt is critical to making sure resources keep coming.
One More Thing: Jobs Are Available
The LA County Department of Economic Opportunity is actively hiring and placing both residents and organizations in paid positions. If you are unemployed or your organization needs help, they offer a host site program where they pay the employee directly at no cost to you as the employer. Several companies in the Altadena area are participating.
